Every year the masses seem to lick their chops when they see Buffalo coming up on the schedule. NOT ME, there are three things I hate when facing an opponent. A team with something to prove, a team with a great pass rush and a team with a great running game,
Guess who has all three of these? Right the Bills,, you all got that right on the first try, again proving I have the smartest most well informed readers ON THE PLANET. So even though I’m a day late lets hope I’m not a dollar short with my Keys to Patriot Victory.
First Key Stuff the run Game: yes the Pats have one of the best run defenses in the NFL (7th in the league) but the Bills have one of if not the most diverse running attacks in football. While you may look at the stats and see a mere 61 yards rushing back in week 4 what you might forget is the 50 + receiving yards they put up or the fortunate fumble Spiller had on the goal line. New England needs to stop this backfield from controlling the tempo and moving the chains without help from the safeties.
Second Key : Take away the Middle, on just six catches TE Scott Chandler and WR Donald Jones went for 154 yards and 3 scores.. UMMM NO, this can’t happen. These are not household names people, this isn’t Ray Rice and Ozzie Newsome. Unfortunately this is the soft side of the Pats underbelly who ever is playing centerfield this week better be prepared for more of the same.
Third Key : Let Brady see the field and step up: incase you haven’t noticed and honestly why would you, the Bills defense has been playing a lot better of late one of the biggest reasons for this is Mario Williams. He has three sacks in his last three games and would love to keep that streak goings and force Tommy into making a few poor decisions. The Bills know they have to win the battle of turnovers if they want to have a chance at stealing a W Sunday.
Last Key: Don’t Get Cute, Enough with the flea flickers end arounds and direct snaps to the RB’s!! Ok hold off on that last one I like direct snaps. But I digress; pound the ball to Welker and Gronk give Ridley twenty touches and Vereen ten and for god sakes don’t throw the ball to Hernandez or hand off to Woodhead EVERY time they rotate into the game. Your tipping your pitches Bill .. STOP IT
As I said at the top of the page there are three things I hate in an opponent. And after the embarrassment of week 4 The Bills have something to prove, they have a running attack that can beat you all by themselves and they have Super Mario playing like the man they over paid.. This troika scares me.
That’s it folks those are my keys to the Pats starting the second half of the season off on the right foot. lets see if the Hoodie can listen
p.s.
Don’t fumble
